Aims of the program

  • To develop students' knowledge and understanding of the hospitality and tourism studies, their commercial and economic setting, their operation and the impact of contemporary trends on provision.
  • To develop technical, supervisory and management ability so as to prepare students to enter the specific vocational area and a wider range of industry sectors.
  • To enable the development, within the relevant context, of problem solving and decision making ability, judgement and communication skills.
  • To develop ability in research within the field of hospitality and tourism.
  • To provide an opportunity for students to gain relevant industry experience in a hospitality/tourism management setting.
  • To enable access to higher learning oppoertunities within the field of hospitality/tourism management for students with a wide range of prior educational experience.
  • To provide access to an advanced diploma level program of study in this field
