Our water conservation programme consists of several activities. These include rainwater harvesting, AC condensed water harvesting, and facilitation of rainwater absorption to soil.
Rainwater is harvested in VC campuses in Male’ and the atolls in rainwater collection tanks built / placed inside the campuses. The harvested rainwater is used for drinking (after RO treatment) and watering the plants. The harvested water from AC’s external units are also used for watering the plants.
Gardens in our campuses provide adequate ground/soil surface for rainwater to seep into the soil, thus enriching the soil with much needed nutrients and water.
