Continuing their outbound mobility journey in Sri Lanka, Villa College students pursuing the Diploma in Teaching Primary and Special Educational Needs participated in institutional visits on 28th July focused on vocational training and classroom support. These experiences provided participants with fresh comparative insights into special educational needs provision and institutional strategies.

On 28th July, the mobility team visited SERD, an institution providing specialised vocational training for students with special needs. Dressed in Maldivian national attire, the students explored vocational programmes and engaged in meaningful discussions regarding educational opportunities for young people with special needs. The visit yielded invaluable information, facilitating a positive shift in perspective among the students regarding how special educational needs provision and support services can be further developed in the Maldives.

On the same day, the students visited Tree House International, where they observed classroom environments in action. The participants had the opportunity to watch students during learning sessions and engage directly with teachers to clarify concepts and gather information regarding learner support strategies. These observations provided practical takeaways that future educators can apply to foster inclusive and supportive learning environments in their own careers.
