Villa College hosts health screening camp for staff in collaboration with Life Care Medical Center
2 min read

On 14 April 2026, the Faculty of Health Sciences at Villa College, in collaboration with Life Care Medical Center, delivered a complimentary Health Screening Camp for staff across Villa College and Villa International High School. Running from 0900 to 1700 hours across multiple campus venues, the initiative brought a full spectrum of clinical services directly to the people who sustain the institution's day-to-day operations.

The scope of the camp reflected a deliberate commitment to comprehensive care rather than tokenistic wellness gestures. Participating staff had access to vital signs and basic screening, laboratory investigations, diagnostic tests including ECG, dental and vision screening, general head-to-toe assessments, physician and dermatology consultations, physiotherapy, and psychological screening and support.

Equally noteworthy is the collaborative architecture behind the initiative. By partnering with Life Care Medical Center and drawing on the expertise of the Villa College Health Society and VCARE Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre, the Faculty of Health Sciences brought together academic, clinical, and community-based capabilities within a single coordinated programme. This model illustrates how institutions can move beyond transactional partnerships and towards sustained collaboration that benefits multiple stakeholders simultaneously. Students observing such a programme gain a practical understanding of how healthcare is delivered in team-based settings, while staff receive tangible care informed by current clinical standards.

A third theme worth highlighting is the institutional philosophy made visible through the event. The premise that healthy employees build a stronger workplace is not a novel observation in principle, yet it remains frequently ignored in practice. When a college offering health sciences programmes extends the same standard of care it teaches to its own employees, the congruence between academic purpose and organisational behaviour becomes evident.

Taken together, these elements position the camp as more than a one-day event. It serves as a working example of how educational institutions can embed care into their operational culture, reinforcing the idea that a thriving academic community begins with the wellbeing of those who make it possible.
