From 15 to 16 May 2026, Villa College's QI Campus in Malé will be transformed into a two-evening pop-culture festival, replacing the traditional open day with Villa College Campus Quest: Comic Edition 2026. Running from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the event will offer a highly immersive introduction to our academic community.
At the centre of the experience sits a Digital Hero Passport accessed through a custom web application built for the event. Attendees register before arrival, receive their passport, and explore themed faculty zones across the campus, completing short challenges and collecting digital stamps through QR checkpoints. Visitors who complete every station qualify for the Grand Prize Draw at the Admissions Hub, a structural choice that ensures every motivated attendee passes through a meaningful conversation with all faculties before leaving the event.
To make exploring academic disciplines memorable, each faculty and department has been reimagined around iconic pop-culture themes. Visitors can step into Gotham City at the Faculty of Shari'ah and Law, or explore the world of Transformers with the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. The Qasim Ibrahim School of Business takes on an Avengers theme, while the Centre for Foundation Studies enters the realm of Jujutsu Kaisen. The Faculty of Health Sciences blends the Avengers with Grey's Anatomy, and the Chinese Language Centre embraces Kung Fu Panda.
From the Ghibli-inspired Institute for Research and Innovation and Centre for Postgraduate Studies to the Cartoon Network atmosphere of the Faculty of Educational Studies, every zone functions as an interactive destination rather than a conventional information desk. Even our support departments are joining the narrative, with V Care adopting a Super Villains motif, the Human Resources Department channelling Disney Villains, and the Institute for Academic Development and the Library transforming into the world of Avatar.
The format positions each academic department as a destination rather than a desk, with each zone hosting a short, themed challenge tied to the discipline it represents.
The festival also reflects a maturing approach to industry partnership, bringing together food and beverage vendors including Caked.mv, Chao! by Mu, Coffee State, and Foodtrove alongside a managed Gaming and Esports Zone by Dhiraagu Gamers Guild, a Cosplay Ramp Walk Competition with prizes sponsored by Ell Mobile, and live stage and student talent show performances throughout both evenings. Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, attendees can browse merchandise and stalls from Daisy.mv and Anime Collect MV, capture memories at Studio 7's photo booth, embark on immersive Dungeons and Dragons campaigns, or test their courage in our immersive Haunted House.
Beneath the festival theming, the academic intent remains clear, with on-the-spot admissions support, offer letter issuance, registration assistance, and career guidance available across the full duration of the event.
